Pickwick Celebrates 70 years in business!

The Pickwick is a neighborhood pharmacy and soda fountain and has been serving the local community since before World War II. In 1933, the Pickwick began as a soda fountain, founded by Francis Odom and Harold Trammel (Francis' brother in law). The Pickwick was located on Augusta Road near Main Street in the current Warehouse Theatre space, just a block away from Furman University in the area that is now County Square. Many of the patrons were Furman University students who visited the Pickwick for sandwiches, shakes, and cherry cokes. …more

New at the fountain, we now make fudge from real cream and butter and comes in a dozen delicious flavors. Sold boxed by the quarter pound, half pound, and pound, but if you buy a pound you will get a half pound free! Saturday December 10, Alberta Pottery Show

All day Saturday the tenth, Alberta Pottery will be set up out front with their award winning stoneware. Full-time local ceramic artists Erin and Jason Hall specialize in handmade functional and sculptural ceramics. The duo work primarily in stoneware and fire in a high temperature gas reduction kiln. Each piece is made from locally sourced stoneware claybody and produced by both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. Their pieces of fine art won them Artisphere's 2015 Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd Mayor's Choice Award. So be sure to come see Alberta Pottery and take a piece home!

Fourth Annual Tomato Pie Contest

Tomato Pie Contest It’s a tradition in the south to make a tomato pie in the summertime and here’s the best way to find the very best pie of 2016! Pies are judged based on appearance, crust, filling and overall flavor & taste. 2016 Judges are Jamarcus Gaston of WSPA’s Carolina Now, Gaye Sprague - City Council, 2015 First Place Winner Liz Rhoads, and Elizabeth Abbott - owner of The 05. Saturday November 28, 11:00-1:00 Oh, Those Holiday Lights Book Signing!

Fred Baus will be signing copies of his book Oh, Those Holiday Lights Saturday the 28th, 11:00-1:00. The children's book is about how the people of Greenville have always looked forward to their holiday lights, but this year the town is veiled in sadness because Roper the Ogre has stolen the lights and hidden them away. All seems lost until the children of Greenville are led by the spirit of the holidays to bring gifts to Roper in hope that he will return the lights. Roper the Ogre will be making an appearance! The 60-years old business was recently purchased by two brothers, Chad and Kelly Odom, from their father and pharmacist, Dwight Odom. July 19, 2007 (Greenville, SC) – The Pickwick Pharmacy announced today that it is searching for the oldest resident in Greenville County to receive the first honorary banana split from its new soda fountain. The soda fountain at The Pickwick is scheduled to open in August 2007 and will be unveiled during an open house for the community at that time.
